Ministry Support
"Real Corker" Ministries is an independent mission working in association with Servants of Christ International, Inc. of Dallas TexasAll contributions are administered by Louise Corker of Hermitage, Arkansas. For accountability purpose there are two treasures who sign checks, Barbara Lenderman and John Freeman, both of Dumas, Arkansas. Any check over $500 must be signed by both of them check.
I am a "Tentmaker" not by choice, but by necessity and perhaps by design. The most marketable skill that have here in Brazil is English. I can do well teaching English as a second language, but in order to make enough income I have to work a lot of hours. I would hope that someday I could live, work, and do ministry without teaching English for profit, but now it is a necessity.
Since the beginning, I have never received more than $500 per month and usually it is between $300 and 400 a month. When I was working with the English school and single they took care of my basic necessities. I didn't have much, but I didn't need much either. Now I am married I have a family to support. If you would check with most any mission agency, you would discover our monthly needs. This is not an extravagant lifestyle, but because of the cost of living here, we pay almost double here what you would pay in the U.S.
It is my personal policy (to try) not to ask for money. I ask individuals and churches to be partners in this ministry, but I will not say, "I need money for this, money for that." I try not make request for money. I will keep you informed on the ministry, share prayer request with you, but I will try not mention financial needs. I will give this information if you ask directly for it. I am trusting God to supply our needs, whether that be through individuals, churches or by earning through "tentmaking."
